Can you believe we are almost entering the year 2019?! I do hope you enjoyed the festivities in November and December, and especially the 48th National Day of Oman. I won’t pretend to know much about the history of this country but I do know this: the people of Oman are incredibly patriotic and respect and admire His Majesty Sultan Qaboos very much. And so they should do, he has done so much for the good of this country. I picked up ‘A Reformer on the Throne’ by Sergey Plekhanov, at Muscat International Airport (WHSmith, 9 OMR) a few months back and have been reading it in between the chick lit and baby forums.

I really recommend this book if you are looking to learn more about the development of Oman. Not only does it provide you with a concise history of the country and rule of the leader, it also includes a selection of enlightening quotes from His Majesty and a large portion of the book is dedicated to an impressive collection of images. Here you will find photographs of Oman, its progress, significant moments from His Majesty’s childhood and reign, and of times he met with other world leaders.

Well, that’s it for 2018! It’s almost been a year for my blog too, I’ve bought the domain name and I’m looking forward to sharing more with you all in 2019.
Happy holidays to all my readers, I hope you enjoy the rest of the year and wish you a bright and happy beginning for the new year.

I live in the UK. Is there any way I can get hold of this book?
