Welcome to my blog in 2019! CB [Cutie Baby] and I are planning a fun morning tomorrow as Moms & Tots are back on again, following a short break during the holidays.

Based in Yellow Submarine, a soft play centre in Panorama Mall, these are really great play sessions tailor-made for mummas and children aged 4 and under. Dads, grandparents and nannies are also welcome, and the play area remains open to older children during these sessions, which take place 10am-12pm, Mondays and Wednesdays. However, please note for the month of January, Moms and Tots will only be arranged for Wednesdays.

We have only been a handful of times since October, but CB has enjoyed herself very much! It’s also a great way to meet other mummas and just have a chat while the little ones play in a safe and fun environment. Personally, I prefer going to these rather than home-based playdates since there is no pressure on either party and the soft play setting (instead of tiled floors and table corners and whatnot) puts everyone’s mind at ease.

The morning starts with free play, and the little ones have a great selection of toddler toys to entertain themselves with. Around halfway through the session, the supervisors invite us all to have drinks and snacks. We are led to the party hall, where there is a lovely arrangement set up for us. After this, we return to the soft play area for nursery rhymes, which are performed by the supervisors themselves. The children are given musical instruments and have a lot of fun joining in, singing and dancing to their favourite songs.

Each session costs 3.5 OMR, and a discounted price of 3 OMR with a Muscat Mums card, so you pay per session and are not obliged to attend every time. I’ll be honest, it does begin quite early for us and I have to wake up CB earlier than usual, but it seems to work out as she has an afternoon nap when we return home and I have a productive day!

And? Don’t forget socks for yourself and your little one(s). These are a must, as they are in every soft play centre. It’s also a good idea to use non-slip grip socks for your child, and cover their arms and knees to prevent them hurting themselves from surface abrasion. In case you forget, grip socks for adults and children are sold at the counter.
