Isn’t it great how many soft play centres are around these days? When I was growing up, I only had Wacky Warehouse at the back of a pub, but even then going there for a birthday party I recall as one of my best memories with childhood friends.

Recently, I took my 4 year old nephew and Cutie Baby to Funtazmo Kids, a fantastic soft play centre situated near Lulu Hypermarket (first floor department store), Oman Avenues Mall.

Most of the hype on social media seems to be surrounding the amusement centre part of Funtazmo targeted at older children and adults located on the second floor near the food court, so I found it quite difficult to find out information about the soft play section. I had sent a message to the facebook page to ask about prices and timings and age suitability but I did not receive a response. We went anyway since it had the convenience of being located so close to Lulu where my sister needed to go.

It turned out to be 3.5 omr per child (including a wristband) over 6 months old and 500 bz per adult. I didn’t have to pay for Cutie Baby since she was just under 6 months at the time (it’s a good thing I didn’t have to since she slept through the whole visit!). Your child can keep the wristband for future visits so next time the entry fee would only be 3 omr. I also forgot my socks (which are a must for adults and children, as with all soft play centres) so I purchased socks at the counter for 500 bz. I asked about the time period before we went in to which the member of staff replied “open” and I had to backtrack and confirm again that she meant unlimited time for play since it was so surprising to me. And so we entered and I think it is safe to say that if my nephew could have stayed all day (which he could have according to Funtazmo) he would have! Great value!

There was something for everyone (or should I say every child) here. There were sections for infants, toddlers and older children too. Many, many activities to keep them busy and entertained, and educated even. From soft climbing frames to ball pits to computer games to baby swings, this place had it all. Actually, I think it would be better if I just list everything we saw and played with (several times over):
• Ball pits

• Catch a frog arcade game
• Play house
• Merry-go-round type rides including cycles
• Mini soft obstacle course, large foam blocks
• Swings
• Cozy Coupe cars
• Floor piano
• Large area with soft climbing frame structure
• Really fun section where children feed coloured material through an assortment of vacuum/suction pipes leading to a high drop
• Trampolines
• Step2 Up & Down Roller Coaster
• Large foam ship
• Multiple slides including a crocodile tunnel slide
• Computer puzzle games
• …and much more!

As you can see, it is well worth a visit.
