…is not only how today can be described but also the name of a chic new restaurant and cafe that I went to recently and highly recommend.
Located in Ghala, near Centara Hotel and Noor Shopping, this spacious restaurant offers a wealth of different cuisines including Continental, Italian and Grill.
It was refreshing to see some colour in a restaurant for a change, with green in the family area and red on the other side with armchairs and small tables. I love the vibe this creates and think the decor really brightens your mood and gets you geared up for a quality meal and experience. The red corner looked very inviting and cosy and in addition to the comfortable seating, it included a fine selection of novels amongst the bookshelves, something I personally have not seen anywhere else in Muscat. My heart skipped a beat when I spotted HP! All this, along with good lighting, gave us ample opportunities for photo taking.
We sat in the family area and for starters we ordered Spicy BBQ Wings and Corn Cheese Nuggets. These were a little cold when they arrived at the table, but were warmed up for us in no time. Each dish was exquisitely presented, but really it was the mains that we were most pleased with. Before this visit, my husband had eaten at and ordered from Another Fine Day a few times already and he had become quite partial to the dish Chicken Cordon Bleu. Sure enough when the rest of us tried this, we completely understood why! Very rarely do I find a dish that looks and tastes good, but this ticked both boxes. The Chicken Stroganoff and Spicy Beef Steak set off our taste buds too. The side of mashed potato was utterly delicious, what we refer to nowadays as a “gastronomical experience”. We also tried the Chicken Biryani which was not as great as the other dishes, but I would give top marks for the raita! Despite feeling very full, for dessert we all shared Fried Ice Cream and Sizzling Brownie, again perfectly presented.
As well as the food I was also very pleased with the excellent service we received. We were served by the manager who not only recommended the best dishes, but also very kindly advised us on portion sizes and how much would be appropriate to order so that we spent wisely and did not order more than we needed.
A special thanks to my sister who took the photos and treated us that day! I’m sure the next time she visits us in Muscat we will come here again.
